In 1965, the Dental Faculty was established at Astrakhan State Medical University, marking an important stage in the development of dental education and practical healthcare in the region. Its opening became possible thanks to the initiative and organizational efforts of the University administration and leading specialists, whose work laid the foundation for the formation of a modern system of dental care, education, and research.
From the first years of its existence, the Dental Faculty developed in close connection with clinical practice. Specialized dental clinics and maxillofacial surgery units were created, providing comprehensive care to patients with diseases and injuries of the maxillofacial region, congenital and acquired defects, inflammatory processes, and other dental and surgical pathologies.
