Dear colleagues, students and staff!
I am addressing you as the rector of ASMU, a deputy of the Astrakhan Regional Duma, a physician, and a citizen of the Russian Federation.
The Astrakhan region is currently experiencing one of the most difficult moments in its history, caused by the situation in the border areas of the Astrakhan region.
Consolidation of state and public efforts, and active interaction between the university and executive authorities and healthcare professionals aimed at resolving emerging issues, are key to returning Astrakhan residents to normal life and ensuring public peace in the region.
All organizations, businesses, and infrastructure facilities in our region are operating normally. Under the leadership of the Acting Governor of the Astrakhan Region, all necessary security measures have been developed and are being implemented.
Our university is also operating as usual. The university administration and all departments are taking necessary measures to prevent emergencies and ensure university safety. Admissions, volunteer outreach activities, and research are continuing. Students and staff are working at the ASMU University Clinic and in practical healthcare, providing medical care to the region’s population.
I would like to emphasize that maintaining a healthy atmosphere of common sense, mutual support, trust, and understanding within the university, and striving to ensure comfortable interactions, is of particular importance today. I urge you to adhere to simple rules that will ensure your own safety and avoid exposing yourself to unnecessary risks.
Here are the rules:
- to objectively assess events taking place in the country and the world, rely only on official, verified sources of information;
- remain vigilant and refrain from hasty and thoughtless comments and actions that can complicate both the atmosphere in society and your life;
- listen carefully to recommendations regarding maintaining an appropriate level of personal safety, various official messages on this matter from competent authorities and management, study them and apply them correctly.
Dear students, faculty, and staff, during these challenging times, I ask you to remain patient and conscientiously fulfill your responsibilities: study, work, care for your loved ones, and support those in need. This is the key to the successful and safe life and work of our entire vast university community!
The time to achieve victory, which will undoubtedly be ours, depends on a clear understanding of the situation, our unity, and civic solidarity today! The dignified future of our university, our region, the entire Russian state, and the lives and well-being of millions of people are in our hands!
Only together we will overcome any difficulties!
Regards,
Poroysky Sergey Viktorovich, Rector of ASMU,
Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation,
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor,
